Itinerary

Day 1 – 3: Nairobi

On arrival to Nairobi you will be transfered to your hotel in the city center. During the next couple of days you will have time for the excursions tour to the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center, David Sheldrick Orphanage and a guided city tour to the important monuments. The last evening you will enjoy a barbecue dinner at Carnivore Restaurant.

Day 3: Nairobi – Aberdares

Pick up from your hotel at 0800 hrs – Passing through the industrial town of Thika and the intensely cultivated farms of the central Kenya. Lunch at the Out Span Hotel Nyeri before transferring to the Treetops hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the Treetops Hotel.

The Aberdares ranges lie at an altitude of 2,134 to 4,268 meters. It is home to the first tree hotel in Africa and harbors significant memories in world history. In 1952, Queen Elizabeth II learnt of her accession to the British throne while she was a guest at Treetops lodge following the death of her father, King George II.

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart Aberdares soon after breakfast and proceed south to Lake Nakuru, which is often referred to as the pink lake for it’s great masses of Pink Flamingos. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive followed by dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

After breakfast we depart via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch at Camp/Lodge. Full afternoon game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara game reserve

Full days exploring the park in search of the “Big Five”. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are offered. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffe, Wildebeests, Zebras, Buffalo, Warthogs, Hyenas, Jackals, Wild Dogs, Buffalo, Leopard, many kinds of Antelopes and Elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of Wildebeest and Zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the Savanna Lion, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Jackal, Hyena and Vultures.

Day 7: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast depart via The Great Rift Valley. Arrival at Lake Naivasha will be in time for a delicious lunch. The remaining time of the afternoon will be at your leisure, with the opportunity of going on a nature walk, hiring a boat to take you the famous Crescent Island, or simply relaxing by the swimming pool. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast drive past the scenic Athi Plains and into the bushy country of Amboseli National Park – a landscape dominated by the spectacular snowcaps of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrival will be in time for lunch at your Camp/Lodge. After lunch and a few hours of rest, embark on a game drive at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain. Dinner and overnight will be at Camp/Lodge.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park

Today you will spend the full day in Amboseli with early morning and evening game drives. Whilst in the park, you will have the opportunity to photograph the animals against the wonderful backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. All meals and overnight will be at the Camp/Lodge.

Day 10: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

After an early breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of Hippos and Crocodiles. Arrival at Camp/Lodge will be in time for lunch. An early evening game drive to see large herds of Elephants, Buffalo, Common Waterbuck, Eland, Rhino and a wide variety of Antelope. Dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.

Day 11: Tsavo West – Tsavo East National Park

We depart soon after breakfast and proceed to Tsavo East National Park. Game is viewed as we exit the park. This park was famed for its large herds of Elephant covered in red dust and fine scenery. We visit the scenic Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks (attracts Elephants in the drier season) and Aruba Dam as we view game enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at Camp/Lodge.

Day 12: Tsavo East National Park

Full day spent exploring the park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. Dinner and overnight stay at Camp/Lodge.

The landscape in Tsavo East is flatter and drier, despite having one of Kenya’s largest rivers flowing through the middle. Much of the wildlife is concentrated on the Galana River, which has plentiful Crocs and Hippos. Likewise, Kudus, Waterbucks and Dik-Diks are common along the river banks.

Day 13: Tsavo East National Park – Mombasa or Nairobi

After breakfast drive to Mombasa to relax at a beachhotel or depart to Nairobi for drop off at the airport for your flight back home.
